Here at Hill Family Friesians, we are committed to producing well rounded and high-quality Friesians. Raised in a family environment where we are hands on from birth until the day they leave us to a wonderful new home. We pride ourselves on raising our horses to not just be beautiful horses but companions to those who own them. Our horses are raised side by side with dogs and kids running around. They are personally cared for daily by the owner working on ground manners from day one. Our horses are enjoyed in a variety of disciplines including English Pleasure, Dressage, trail riding, and even some camping. The foals are walked, bathed, clipped, hooves trimmed, trailered and ponied before leaving our barn.  We chose only select and qualified homes as we strive to provide the best match for each need and personality.

 

     As the owner of HFF I am so proud of where we have come starting with a childhood dream seeing a Friesian when watching the movie "Lady Hawk". Their calm gentle nature and majestic beauty had me hooked. It all started with our first mare Tietsje; to her son and my beloved first show partner Zeus. Since then, we have added two imported mares as our new broodmares, a surrogate mare to use for embryo transfers and a new show gelding. 

 

In breeding, we specifically aim for sport aptitude, breed type and good personalities.  We enjoy taking foals to the yearly Keuring to be inspected .  It is a great opportunity to get feedback on our breeding goals and to network with other owners.
